Electronic scoreboard showing the time of the match, fell to French tennis player Gael Monfis at the US Open. Video of the incident on 29 August posted on my channel YouTube user Federico Coppini.

The Frenchman in the first round of the tournament, defeated Gilles Muller from Luxembourg with the score 6:4, 6:2, 7:6 (7:5). At the beginning of the second set Monfils was trying to get a heavy ball near the fence and a foot grazed the scoreboard, which tipped over on him. Tennis player managed to escape into the side and display tangentially touched his leg.

“When you’re immersed in the game, feel nothing. Just jump around. I saw the wall, but I was lucky. It hurt a bit, but I got off easy. The scoreboard could fall to my ankle,” said Monfils in an interview to the official website of the Association of tennis professionals.
