A new contingent of public sheriffs, about 150 people, and former members of the antiterrorist operation in September will be released on the protection of public order in the border areas of Crimea in Kherson region. About it reports UKRINFORM.
“They will patrol in September. I think in the first week of September. It is planned somewhere 150 people,” said Director of Kherson regional employment center Eugene Erashov.
According to him, patrolling a new contingent of sheriffs will start simultaneously in all three border with the Crimea areas Chaplynka, Kalanchak, and Genichesk.
The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine asks OSCE to strengthen the presence of the Special monitoring mission along admingranitsy the Crimea and the border with Russia.
On 10 August, the FSB and Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine of preparing attacks in the Crimea. Ukraine has rejected the charges. According to the Ukrainian intelligence, in the Crimea there was a firefight between the FSB and the Russian military. This situation is the Russian government trying to pass off as sabotage of Ukraine. The EU and NATO said that Moscow failed to provide evidence against Ukraine. Russia has occupied the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in 2014 year. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine officially declared on 20 February 2014 beginning of the temporary occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia. Key international organizations, including the UN General Assembly has condemned Russia’s actions and called the annexation and occupation of Crimea illegal. Against Russia were imposed economic sanctions.
