“The plant remained one big project – the construction of oxygen-Converter plant. We did a project and basic engineering. But given the trends in the European Union and the prospect of the imposition of duties (for hot-rolled steel, EDS.), we have revised our project,” he said.

According to him, instead of the model “when it was planned to build two 300-ton Converter with 2-strand rolling machine continuous casting and rolling two modules, Zaporizhstal will go the way of one of the rolling module with two 1-strand CCM, and slightly reduce performance.”

The plant will have to shift plans for six months, but soon the works will begin construction of the CCC, said Shurma.

The CEO recalled that in the works for five years has invested more than 8.5 billion UAH. The combine became investirebis project in Ukraine.

“Almost all funds went to the environment. Sinter plant: in all six sintering machines gas cleaning installed. Emissions reduced to 50 mg, and bag filters – below 30 mg. of sulfur adsorption above 50%. While localized Assembly of gas treatment facilities in Ukraine”, – he said.

In the rolling production was the problem of discharges to the Dnieper. But the new pickling line cost more than $100 million allowed to stop discharges into the river.
