The Ambassador of Ukraine in Austria Alexander szczerba in an article for the Austrian newspaper Die Presse said that the Austrian politicians who visited the Crimea to recognize its annexation by Russia, has violated the neutrality of Austria.

“The same day, when Renat Perelomov (Crimean Tatar, tortured Russian invaders – ed.) talked about the untold sufferings through which he had to go, Deputy mayor of Linz Dr. Detlef Wimmer and the newly elected member of Parliament Hans-jörg Jenewein I laid out my things in suites hotel in Yalta, where they arrived to show support for the Russian annexation of the Crimea “, – wrote the diplomat in the article, the text of which is posted in Facebook.

According to the Ambassador, Wimmer and Jenevein become members of the “Association of friends of the Crimea.” Scherba noted that his letter specified the Austrian politicians remained unanswered, indicating their indifference to human rights violations on the Peninsula and norms of international law.

“A politician is not only their moral criteria, but also the obligations of his own country. In the case of Austria it was the neutrality and EU decisions. In my opinion, Mr. Wimmer and Jinwan violated both,” said the Ukrainian Ambassador.

In April Shcherba stated that five members of the far-right Austrian freedom party, visited the Crimea, to fulfill the contract with the Kremlin’s United Russia.

Russia has occupied the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in 2014 year. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine officially declared on 20 February 2014 beginning of the temporary occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia. Key international organizations, including the UN General Assembly has condemned Russia’s actions and called the annexation and occupation of Crimea illegal. Against Russia were imposed economic sanctions. For the implementation by Moscow of the so-called elections with the participation of the Crimea in 2016-m to year the Parliament of Ukraine recognized the Russian state Duma is illegitimate.
