Concern Boeing has confirmed that it is negotiating the purchase of the Brazilian aircraft conglomerate Embraer. This writes The Wall Street Journal.
The publication notes that the Boeing deal is needed to expand the representation on the regional air transportation market, one of the leaders of which is the Embraer. Brazilian manufacturer counts on highly qualified engineers of the American company.
This transaction represents another stage of competition between Boeing and Airbus, which signed a cooperation contract with the canadian Bombardier.
Market value of Embraer to the news of a possible deal with Boeing accounted for about $3.7 billion, after the shares of the Brazilian company rose by 22.5%.
Boeing will still have to obtain the consent of absorption from the authorities of Brazil as a “Golden share” Embraer is owned by the state.
Earlier it was reported that Boeing made a deal with the leasing company Avalon for $11 billion.
