Another us state has joined in the recognition of the Holodomor in Ukraine of 1932-1933 a genocide against the Ukrainian people. It is reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States.

It is reported that the Governor of Wisconsin Scott Walker signed a proclamation.

“Thank you to the United States for the support and restoration of historical justice to the memory of millions of victims who died from the tyranny of the Soviet regime”, – stated in the message.

To date, the Holodomor recognized as genocide in the States of Washington, Wisconsin, Oregon, Illinois, Pennsylvania, new Jersey and new York.


On 18 November, the US condemned attempts to challenge the historic fact of the Holodomor in Ukraine of 1932-33.

On 20 November Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly said that the time has come officially to the United States to recognize the Holodomor against the Ukrainian people in 1932-33 a genocide.
