State enterprise Antonov launched a large-scale deployment of serial production of transport aircraft An-178, which is currently undergoing certification tests, reports UNIAN.
The an-178 has already performed over 100 missions with a total duration of 160 hours. At the moment the aircraft is ready to continue flight testing, as well as loading and unloading.
Commenting on the certification tests of the An-178, the head of Antonov Alexander Kotsyuba noted that all the procedures are with the use of European regulations CS-25. “We have a firm order for 10 aircraft for the airline from Azerbaijan. At the production plant “Antonov” began producing the An-178,” said Kotsyuba.
The an-178 was developed on the basis of passenger aircraft An-158. The aircraft has a modified fuselage, a ramp for loading and unloading of bulky cargo and can carry up to 18 tons of cargo, including heavy-duty shipping containers 1C. The aircraft is designed to replace transport aircraft An-12.
