International court of arbitration in the Hague began to consider arbitration statement Naftogaz of Ukraine to the Russian Federation. The composition of the arbitrators has already been formed. This is evidenced by information on the website of the Hague arbitration.

Naftogaz requires compensation for assets lost as a result of the annexation of Crimea in 2014

The company refers to the regulations of the UNCITRAL (United Nations Commission on International Trade Law, UN Commission on international trade law) and the agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Russia of November 27, 1998, on mutual protection of investments. The arbitration application was registered by the court on 17 October 2016

In turn, the Russian Federation has appointed its representatives in the arbitration process, what informed the Tribunal by letter of 18 January 2017, Russia does not recognize the jurisdiction of the international Tribunal in this process.
