The Russian delegation still want to return to the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. This follows from the document on establishment of the special on this occasion of the Committee “on the question of the role and mission of PACE,” which was approved today at the meeting of this organization in Paris, writes Yevropravda has a copy of the adopted document.

The authority of Russia in PACE is limited in 2014 due to sanctions for the aggression of Russia against Ukraine.

The Committee, the document says, will study the implementation of paragraphs 16-18 of Resolution No. 2186. “In fact, we are talking about the restoration of the authority of the Russian delegation to PACE,” – said in the publication.

Lobbyists of the Kremlin in Europe, proposes to make such decision “for the sake of synchronization of representation of the Russian Federation in the two statutory bodies of the Council of Europe” (PACE and the Committee of Ministers – ed.).

“Initially, it was proposed that the newly created group should prepare a “proposal” on the synchronization of bodies, that is, the draft decision, which will be voted on at the PACE. Following the discussion, the Bureau of the Assembly decided that the result of the work of the new body should be “vision”, that is, a report that is not a draft document and can not be directly put to the vote,” – said in the message.

Such Committee will include the head of PACE, the chairmen of political groups, heads of national delegations and the Chairpersons of the committees. The group must show Bureau report no later than December 2018.
