41-year-old Ukrainian heavyweight boxer Wladimir Klitschko lost early 27-year-old Briton Anthony Joshua in the capital of Britain at Wembley stadium, writes Vringe.
At stake in the match was a title of the world champion under version IBF, which has Joshua, and vacant titles the WBA and IBO insignificant.
In the fifth round, Joshua was able to send Klitschko down, however, in the next round the Ukrainian sent the Brit to the floor of the crown “deuce”. To finish off the favorite failed.
In the 11th round of the British again went for broke, and twice – uppercut and left hook sent Klitschko down. 40 seconds before the Gong, Joshua locked the Ukrainian in the corner of the ring and made the visual signal of the referee, winning by TKO.
For Klitschko (64-5, 53 KO’s) this was the first outing in the ring with the end of autumn 2015, when he for the first time in 10 years lost, losing to compatriot Joshua (19-0, 19 KO’s) – brawler Tyson fury.
