The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Canada expressed concern about mass arrests in Russia of peaceful protesters against corruption. This was reported on page office on Twitter.
“Canada is very concerned by the detention of peaceful demonstrators in cities across Russia. We need to respect democratic freedoms.”, – stated in canadian foreign Ministry.
On March 26 in about 100 cities across Russia protested against corruption. In Moscow detained 933 persons in St.-Petersburg – about 150 people.
The reason for the protests was the investigation of the opposition on property of the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, which was called “He’s not Dimon.”
In the US and the EU condemned the detention of hundreds of protesters and urged the government immediately to release them all.
