Canada declared persona non grata of the Ambassador and chargé d’affaires of Venezuela, Minister of foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland, reports UKRINFORM.
“The Ambassador of Venezuela in Canada, which was withdrawn in protest against the introduction Canada sanctions against involved in corruption and serious violations of human rights of Venezuelan officials, are no longer welcome in Canada,” she said.
The decision of the authorities of Ottawa, was a response to the expulsion of the Venezuelan diplomats of Canada and Brazil.
“This step is very characteristic of the Maduro regime, which has consistently undermined all attempts to restore democracy and help the people of Venezuela,” said Freeland.
On 24 December, the Venezuelan government expelled the Ambassador of Brazil Rui Pereira and the canadian chargé d’affaires Krabi Kovalik.
