The number of deaths at the carnival in Bolivia has reached 40 people, and another 124 injured. This was announced by the Minister of interior Carlos Romero, reports UKRINFORM.

“After three days of carnival celebrations killed at least 40 people and 124 injured, most (died – ed.) as a result of road accidents, the explosion in the Bolivian city of Oruro and drowned in murders and floods,” said Romero.

According to a government report, 16 people died in the accident and eight people in the explosion of a gas cylinder in the city of Oruro.

In addition, six people died due to drowning, four were killed, three committed suicide and undetermined deaths from hypothermia.

According to police, during the carnival celebrations in 2017 were recorded 67 deaths.

On the night of February 14 in the Bolivian city of Oruro has been the second few days of the explosion. In the result, four people were killed, about a dozen were injured and were hospitalized. It is noted that police arrested three suspects.

Yesterday in the Venezuelan state of Bolivar unidentified persons fired at participants of the carnival procession.
