Catalonia in October, lost about 15 thousand jobs. This is the highest rate among all 17 Autonomous regions of Spain, reports AP.
The crisis in the region has led to the fact that more than a thousand companies have moved their offices to other parts of Spain for fear to be out of the EU market in the case of independence of Catalonia.
Last month the number of unemployed people in Catalonia has reached 58 thousand people.
In Spain, 3.4 million people are unemployed.
27 October 2017, the Parliament of Catalonia voted for independence in the region. The Senate of Spain almost immediately issued its decision on the suspension of autonomy of Catalonia. Later the country’s Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy dismissed the Catalan Parliament and call an election.
On October 31 the Spanish constitutional court has temporarily suspended the proclamation of the independence of Catalonia.
