Ukraine time reacting to online threats from the aggressor state of Russia against critical infrastructure, including defence and civil purposes. About this informed the head of the information security Apparatus of the national security Council Valentin Petrov in an interview with German TV channel ARD, reports the press service of the Ministry.
At the end of 2015, according to Petrov, the first application in Europe of cyberweapons against civilian infrastructure, which “can be regarded as a demonstration of strength, including member countries of NATO.” Then malicious hackers attacked the Ukrainian energy company.
“Since Ukraine last three years has become a testing ground of the Russian modern equipment, tactics and, in particular, cybernetic weapons, we can assume that on the one hand, these cyber attacks were a particular challenge,” he said, adding the number of facts suggests that these cyber attacks were carried out from Russia.

Significant in this context is the doctrinal definition of the Russian information and cyber space in the same operating space as air, sea or space, explained the head of the cyber security apparatus of the national security Council.
“If attackers managed to do what they have planned in December would be blocked all payments to the state budget, all social benefits that could lead to a social explosion”, – said Petrov.

According to him, the network security system in Ukraine has developed primarily as a system of protection of state resources where the information is stored with limited access.
“But we are developing our systems and capabilities for protection of critical infrastructure… We worked on passing, so the other attack, the public did not see. I think this is a great success of our cyber security system… Better to prepare in advance and work out possible scenarios of counter… Keep the powder dry and working on all events and possible scenarios”, – said the representative of NSDC.
