Ukraine is close to getting another IMF tranche of $2 billion. this was stated by Finance Minister Alexander danyluk in an interview with Reuters.
“We are very close and it is very important for us because it is an important signal for the markets, for investors, and it opens other financial support”, – said danyluk.
Thus, when this happens, the Minister said. He noted that after receiving the IMF money, Ukraine will be able to attract another billion dollars under the guarantee of the United States.
“In addition, will receive 600 million Euro macro-financial assistance of the European Union, as well as loans for the purchase of gas”, – the Minister added.
“The most important issue is that we need the decision of the Board that our cooperation continues and that we work as partners to implement reforms that are important for Ukraine”, – said danyluk.
The program of financial assistance in the amount of $17.5 billion had helped Ukraine to overcome the two-year economic downturn caused by the conflict in the Donbas and annexation of Crimea by Russia. But the third tranche delayed since October last year due to political turmoil and lack of progress in reforming the country.
