The poll shows a decline in the popularity of the social-Democrat Martin Schulz and a small increase in ratings of the Christian democratic party of Angela Merkel. The Politbarometer poll conducted by the TV channel ZDF and the Tagesspiegel edition, reports UKRINFORM.

If the parliamentary elections were held next week, the CDU/CSU would vote 37% of respondents, which was 2% more than in early April. At that time, as the social Democrats would vote 29% – 3% less than one month ago.

It is also reported that Merkel would like to see the head of the government 50% of respondents, and its main competitor Schultz – 37%.

Elections to the Bundestag will take place on September 24.

On 28 April it was reported that deputies of the European Parliament by a majority vote condemned some of the solutions of the former head of the EP, now a candidate for Chancellor of Germany from Social democratic party Schultz.
