At the upcoming NATO summit in 2018, it is necessary to raise the issue of strengthening the presence of NATO troops in the Baltic region. This was stated by the President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid, the press service of the head of state.

“The permanent presence of allied military groups in Estonia gives a strong signal to NATO unity and resolve to protect all of its territory. The current battle group, together with the defence forces of Estonia was very successful and we thank all countries that sent their soldiers,” said Callid.

It is noted that at the meeting in Estonia with the ambassadors of Britain, France and Denmark in NATO, it also stated that “it is necessary to find solutions, as in the case of the need to arrange accommodation for more troops in Baltic sea region and to strengthen the presence of the allies on the sea and in the air.”

The Estonian President stressed that attention should be paid to the security of countries in southern Europe along with the Eastern border of NATO .
