The highest level of physical activity observed in Sweden, Denmark and Finland, slightly below – in Slovenia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, great Britain, France, Austria, Ireland and Malta, reports UNIAN with reference to the Agencia Sinc.

Little attention is paid to physical training in Romania, Hungary, Italy, Poland and Portugal.

The worst situation is in Bulgaria and Greece.

The rest of the EU (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Spain, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Cyprus) occupy an intermediate position.

Reasons for the observed differences scientists call the level of education, nature of employment and the financial situation of the population of the studied countries.

Analysis conducted by scientists based on the materials of special survey from the European Commission. It includes data on approximately 27 thousand EU citizens (without Croatia, which during the preparation of the document was not included in the supranational Union) aged 15 years and older.
