The Prime Minister of Finland Juha Sipila promised to support sanctions against Russia. He stated this during a meeting with President Petro Poroshenko in the framework of the Fifth summit of the Eastern partnership, the press service of the head of state.

Sipila said that he is ready to extend sanctions against the Russian Federation to the fulfillment of the Minsk agreements. Poroshenko discussed with the Finnish Prime Minister also prospects for deployment of the UN peacekeeping operation in the occupied part of Donbass.

The President stressed that Ukraine’s position on the issue of project Nord stream-2 remain unchanged, and called on the Finnish side balanced approach to the further consideration of this issue within the EU.
