The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine sent a protest note to the Russian foreign Ministry in connection with the breakdown of the lecture on the independence of Ukraine, which was to be held yesterday, August 16, at the cultural Center of Ukraine in Moscow. This is stated in the statement published on the Ministry website.
The foreign Ministry urged the Russian side to respect the assumed international legal obligations regarding activities of cultural centres, in particular the adoption of comprehensive measures to ensure security of personnel and premises of the National cultural center of Ukraine in Moscow and prevent similar provocations in the future.”
“The Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation sent a corresponding note,” – said the Minister.
Yesterday, August 16, at the cultural Center of Ukraine in Moscow the Pro-Russian radicals, representatives of the youth wing of United Russia, disrupted a lecture on the independence of Ukraine, Professor Anton Antonov-Ovsienko.
As reported, the radicals began to chant “Crimea is Russia”, ask provocative questions, and disrupted the event.
