A former adviser to Donald trump on foreign policy Carter Paige acknowledged that he had met with Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Arkady Dvorkovich in Moscow in July 2016. He said this in comments to CNN.
The meeting took place during the conference on the occasion of the next edition at the new economic school in Moscow. Paige described the meeting as a greeting in passing, not as formal communication.
A former adviser for the first time confirmed a meeting with high-ranking official of the government of the Russian edition of the New York Times on Friday evening. Later, in comments to CNN, he called the name of the official.
Previously, Paige claimed that he had talked in Moscow with only scientists and businessmen.
In April, the television company ABC News reported that Russian agents tried to recruit Paige, promising to promote the lucrative contracts.
