French investigators began an investigation into allegations of bribery in the selection of the host countries of FIFA world cups 2018 and 2022. About this reports Deutsche Welle.
The investigation is carried out on suspicion of corruption, abuse of office and of organizing a criminal community.
As part of the investigation in Switzerland was interviewed former head of the International Federation of football associations (FIFA) Joseph Blatter. Details about the conversation with him is not reported.
Vice-Premier of the government of the Russian Federation and head of organizing Committee Russia-2018 Vitaly Mutko called the investigation the French Prosecutor’s office, “funny”, suggesting that France pursues its own interests.
