The people’s Deputy Vitaly Homutynnik resigned as head of the parliamentary group of Renewal in the Verkhovna Rada. The MP decided to retire from the leadership position “during the investigation the state office of public Prosecutor and audit the State fiscal service of his returns since 1998 to 2016″, the press service of the party of Renaissance.

His decision Homutynnik explained the “desire to avoid political pressure on the parliamentary group”.

“To prevent speculation about the impact on our parliamentary group in future voting in the Parliament, I decided to resign from the duties of the Chairman of the parliamentary group,” he said on Tuesday, September 5, following the meeting of the group.

According to the report, the new head of the Renaissance in the Parliament elected the Chairman of the party Viktor Bondar, Deputy head of the group – the people’s Deputy Artem Ilyyuk.

In July 2017, the Prosecutor General’s office opened criminal proceedings against Homutynnik on suspicion of tax evasion.
