Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman will initiate the dismissal of the head of the state concern Ukroboronprom Roman Romanov because of the situation with debts on a salary in the Nikolaev shipyard.

“I gave instructions to the government regarding the repayment of debt to the staff of the head of Ukroboronprom. The control term – 25 Dec. Today 27th. the Debt is not repaid… I have heard that they can’t do it. I don’t understand it,” said Groisman at a meeting of the government.

The Prime Minister said that today will sign a document to the President. “Advise the head of Ukroboronprom today to quit on their own,” – said Groisman.

Debt on GP the Nikolaev shipbuilding plant arose from the fact that from February 2015, the state has ceased to offset the cost of the plant for the maintenance of the unfinished cruiser “Ukraine” which is the property of defense. In the result, the state debt to the company and its employees reached 61.1 million UAH.

The Ukroboronprom said earlier that you can not repay the debts to the NHS at the expense of the other enterprises included in the group.

The Ministry of defense said that the Ukrainian Navy do not need this cruiser.

26 December, employees of the Nikolaev shipbuilding plant held a protest, blocking the route Nikolaev-Odessa, demanding to extinguish debts under the salary.

Romanov was appointed CEO of the state concern Ukroboronprom, in July 2014. During the presidential campaign, he worked as the head of the election headquarters of the candidate Poroshenko in the Kherson region. There he was known as the owner of the dealership avtoplaneta plus and the Deputy of regional Council. Novels the dealership opened in 2001, since 2003 – the official dealer of Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors in Kherson.

In the politics of Novels came in 2006, elected as a Deputy of the Kherson city Council from the Our Ukraine. In 2009 moved to the then party of Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s Front for change, headed the regional Communist party organization.
