The Minister of foreign Affairs of Hungary péter Szijjártó will initiate next Monday, October 16, at the meeting of foreign Ministers of member countries of the European Union in Luxembourg, the revision of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. He stated this during a meeting with heads of organizations of Transcarpathian Hungarians and the leaders of the historical churches in Uzhgorod, reports Radio Liberty.

It is reported that, in his opinion, the new law of Ukraine on education, significantly violates the principles of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

“This we cannot allow. The Hungarian government resolutely to resist such steps of Ukraine”, – said the Hungarian politician. The only means of influence on Ukraine, Szijjártó called the increase in international pressure on the official Kiev.

It is also said that the head of the Hungarian foreign Ministry is satisfied with the conversation with the Chairman of the Transcarpathian regional state administration Gennady Moskal, who spoke in defense of the rights of Hungarians in Transcarpathia, which are among the region’s population to 12 percent. In addition to this, as noted, he responded positively to the resolution of the regional Council of Transcarpathian region on the protection of the cultural and educational rights of national minorities.
