Hungary will not contribute to the meeting of the NATO-Ukraine at the level of defence Ministers. He stated this after a meeting with the Chairman of the Society of Hungarian culture in Transcarpathia and people’s Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Vasyl Brenzovych, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Siyyarto, reports Radio Liberty.
According to him, the position of Hungary has not changed and Budapest will not support integration processes in Ukraine, while there is “violated European and international law.”
He noted that his country’s “concern” for consideration of the Verkhovna Rada of draft laws which, he believes, diskriminiert the rights of minorities, because no one consulted with Hungary and Hungarians who live in Transcarpathia.
The Hungarian Minister stressed that Hungary is willing to conclude agreements with Kiev on the education act, only if their content “will coincide with the interests and desire of the Hungarian minority”.

October 14, in Hungary, stated that Ukraine will complicate the integration process and are not responsible for obtaining Hungarian passports to Ukrainian citizens.
5 September 2017, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on education, according to which the representatives of national minorities can receive education in their native language along with the state only in preschool and elementary school, representatives of indigenous peoples in pre – school institutions and secondary schools.

8 December 2017, the Venice Commission in its conclusions on the Ukrainian educational law, said about the justification of his criticism in terms of education in the languages of national minorities, but noted that the legislation has a framework character, which gives an opportunity for Ukraine to adjust its position.
