Hurricane Harvey: the number of victims has increased to 60
In the United States increased the number of victims from the devastating hurricane Harvey. Officials in Texas confirmed the death of 60 people. According to The Asssociated Press.
The greatest number of deaths occurred in Harris County, the center of which is the largest city in the state of Houston. It killed 30 people.
The Agency notes that in the management of emergency situations took into account not only the victims during the storm and associated flooding, and those who died from the effects. Cause of deaths was heart attacks and other diseases, falling trees, whose roots are washed away with water, and fires.
Hurricane Harvey became the most powerful storm on the U.S. mainland in the past 12 years. He made landfall on August 25 and began to move inland. The wind speed in the center of the hurricane reached 215 km/h, but then dropped significantly.
Now the estimate of the power of Harvey downgraded to a tropical depression, but in the next three days from Louisiana to Kentucky is expected to heavy rain and flood warnings will remain in effect for Southeast Texas and parts of Louisiana.
