Raging in the Caribbean sea, the hurricane of the fifth category Irma brought complete devastation to the island of Barbuda: the home was demolished, overturned the communications tower and uprooted trees. This was stated by Prime Minister of the island nation of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston brown, reports Reuters.
According to brown, people will hardly be able soon to live on the island because of the total destruction and “absolute devastation”. Destroyed more than 95% of the buildings.
“The recovery will take years,” he said.
The official confirmed that the hurricane has claimed at least one life on the island, and yesterday, September 6, at least seven people have died in the French overseas territories.
If the forecasts come true, meteorologists and on the weekends around Barbuda will be another storm called “Jose”, all island residents will have to evacuate.
