The President of Albania was elected speaker of Parliament and leader of the party Socialist movement for integration Ilir Meta. It is reported Balkan Insight.
The President was elected the fourth time, despite a boycott by the opposition.
Meta received 87 votes for and two against. Only in the Albanian Parliament, the 140 MPs.
The previous three times, the ruling party did not nominate candidates in the hope that the centre-right opposition, the Democratic party will stop the boycott of Parliament and take part in the vote.
The opposition claims that parliamentary elections will take place on June 18, setup.
The President was elected after Prime Minister EDI Rama and his party supported the candidacy of Meta.
