The Estonian authorities detained at the border checkpoint in Narva, a Russian citizen who tried to leave the country. According to prosecutors, he is a FSB agent and was able to prepare a cyber-crime against state institutions of Estonia, according to Estonian Agency ERR.
The detention was conducted by the employees of the security police last weekend, and November 6, the Harju County court issued the sanction on arrest of the detainee.
“We are dealing with an agent of a foreign government, namely the Federal security service of Russia, whose goal was the penetration into computer systems of state institutions of Estonia, however, the issues associated with ID cards, it has nothing to do”, – said the head of the investigation is U.S. attorney Inna Ombler.
Prosecutors claim that serious damage from his actions was avoided. The Russian Embassy about the arrest until notified.
Other details of the incident, the Estonian authorities have not yet disclosed.
