A former employee of two clinics in the German cities of Delmenhorst and Oldenburg Niels G. did patients injections of drugs, which led to clinical death and then supposedly “saved” them. The prosecution considers that this has led to the death of nearly hundreds of people, reports Deutsche Welle.
The investigators cite evidence of Toxicological examinations. According to them, we can talk about the death of 62 patients in Delmenhorst and 38 in Oldenburg.
The special investigation Commission for three years and ordered to exhume and re-check more than 130 bodies. Investigators were looking for traces of drugs.
Previously, Nils G. was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder. He gave patients who were in intensive care, high doses of medication. In late August, investigators said, that the convicted person may be involved in only 90 premature deaths in hospitals. This conclusion was preceded by nearly three years of investigation.
The Prosecutor’s office is preparing to nominate former nurse new charges at the beginning of 2018. Investigators believe that most of the patient deaths could have been avoided.
