In the Cultural-information centre of the Embassy of Ukraine in Moldova was held an event dedicated to the Day of dignity and freedom. About it reports UKRINFORM.
The report said that the event was attended by diplomats, heads of public organizations, guests and journalists.
“Four years ago, no one could not imagine that Ukraine would start a war. Today we pay a high price for its independence and territorial integrity: more than 10 thousand citizens were killed in this war, tens of thousands wounded, nearly two million people forced to flee their homes in Crimea and Donbas, hundreds of Ukrainians became hostages of Russian mercenaries, about 200 thousand of the defenders received the bitter experience of war and received the status of combatants”, – said during his speech the Ambassador of Ukraine in Moldova Ivan Hnatyshyn.
He also stressed that Ukrainians should draw conclusions and not repeat the mistakes of the past. All those present observed a minute of silence in memory of the Heavenly hundred heroes and those killed in the Donbass.
