In the European Union on Tuesday, February 28, reinstitution will begin negotiations on the abolition of visa regime for Ukraine. This was announced in the EU Council, reports UKRINFORM.
“Trilateral negotiations on the draft legislative resolution on the inclusion of Ukraine in the list of third countries whose nationals are abolished visa requirements between the EU Council, European Parliament and European Commission will start on Tuesday,” – said the Agency interlocutor.
As projected, after completion of negotiations and decision-making in the European Parliament and of the Council of the EU visa regime for Ukraine will come into force in a few months – in late spring or early summer.
Monday, February 27, the EU Council approved a decision to cancel visa requirements for Georgian citizens, which will come into force before the end of March. Simultaneously with the decision on Georgia, the Ministers of countries-EU members also approved a new mechanism for suspension of visa-free regimes for all third countries.
