Former Minister of defense of South Korea Kim Kwan Jin was arrested on Saturday morning, November 11 for his alleged involvement in the hidden cyberactivist aimed to influence public opinion in favor of the last conservative government in the period from 2010 to 2012. The Seoul court issued a warrant for the arrest of 68-year-old former head of the defense Department, arguing that he may flee the country. He is accused of abuse of power and the assumption of political interference in the military penal code.
The court also issued a similar warrant for the arrest of Lima, Kwang Bina, former Deputy defense Minister who was charged under the same articles, and bribery, as is suspected of receiving money from one of the officials involved in cyber operations. In addition, they both accused that they used the officers to promote the regime of the former President on the Internet.
Kim headed the Ministry for 2010-2014, and lim held the post of Vice from 2011 to 2013.
