The US government and Turkey adopted a decision to lift mutual restrictions on the issuance of visas. This is stated in the message of the embassies of both countries.

“The state Department is confident that the security situation has greatly improved, to fully restore the visa application service in Turkey,” – reads the statement of the American side.

However, the Embassy and consulates in Ankara said that there remains serious concern about the accusations against the arrested local employees of U.S. mission in Turkey and other cases against detained American citizens.

In turn, the Turkish Embassy in Washington also said that resumes visa services for citizens of the United States “under the principle of reciprocity”.

“We welcome the decision to return to the old plan today. In the framework of the principle of reciprocity restrictions on the visa regime for citizens of the USA they also canceled,” – said in a statement on the website of the Turkish Embassy.
