Progress in the implementation of the Minsk agreements is not, therefore, EU sanctions against the Russian Federation will not be removed. This was stated by the foreign Minister of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn during a meeting with the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin, reports the press service of the Ministry.

Asselborn said the Luxembourg government supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.

He also recalled his visit to Ukraine in March 2017, where during a visit Shirokino were convinced that the situation in Donbass “is not a frozen conflict, and a hot war.”

The parties also discussed the current state of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Luxembourg, identified the promising areas of practical cooperation, in particular in the field of air cargo, telecommunications and education.

The assistant Secretary Rex Tillerson for Europe and Eurasia Wess Mitchell said about the readiness of the United States to tighten sanctions against Russia.
