The Ukrainian branch of the international organization Transparency International called on President Petro Poroshenko to take away from the Verkhovna Rada draft law No. 7440 on the anti-corruption court and to introduce a new one that takes into account the recommendations of the Venice Commission. This is stated in the statement of the press service of Ukraine TI.

According to TIU, some provisions of the document are inconsistent with the recommendations of the Commission of 6 October.

In part 5 of article 8 of the draft law envisages only an Advisory role of the Public Council of international experts. If he makes a negative decision, the Supreme qualification Commission of judges may ignore by 11 votes out of 16. Nonetheless, the Venice Commission recommended to give international organizations and donors a decisive role in the selection process of judges.
