Conducted in the UK, the survey showed that more than half of the population don’t consider myself a follower of any religion. This was reported by Bi-bi-si.
In a survey conducted by the National centre for social research in the UK last year, took part 2942 adults, of which 53% in the question on “religious affiliation” chose the option “no religion”. Such a high rate of unchurched people in the UK for the first time in history.
Among people aged 18 to 25 years, the proportion of non-religious is 71%.
Commenting on the survey results, Bishop of Liverpool said that “not to profess any religion does not mean to be an atheist”, and God and the Church, in his words, “remain relevant”.
Recent data indicate that four out of ten people born in religious families, themselves grew unbelievers. The biggest drop in the number of adherents of the faith observed among the parishioners of the Church of England.
