In 2016, the number of hungry in the world rose to 815 million people. It is reported by the world food programme of the United Nations.

This is 11% of the total population of the planet. Most people suffer from a lack of food in Asia – 520 million people.

Suffered from hunger, 155 million children under five years of age.

During the decade the number of hungry people has gradually decreased and now begins to grow again. It is associated in particular with the increase in the number of armed conflicts around the world.

In 2015 the world was the 777 million hungry people.

In 2003, there were 947 million people who suffer from a lack of food. Every year the number of hungry people has gradually decreased and increased for the first time in 2016.
