In Turkey detained opposition journalists of the newspaper Cumhuriyet. The arrests allegedly linked to a failed military coup in July 2016, reports BBC News.

The journalists had been accused of collaboration with the Kurdistan workers ‘ party, which the Turkish authorities called a terrorist organization, the opposition and the Hizmet movement, the ideologist of which is Fethullah Gulen.

Cumhuriyet is the oldest Turkish media.

The weekend was closed 15 other media and was dismissed 10,000 civil servants.
