The investigating judge of Goloseevsky district court of Kiev on October 31 seized pharmaceutical plant Farmeks Group (formerly Max-well) in Boryspil.
As have informed in a press-service of the law firm Ilyashev and Partners, the arrest was effected at the request of BTA Bank, civil plaintiff in criminal proceedings on the theft from the Bank more than $6 billion and launder stolen on preliminary arrangement with foreign citizens.
“The machinations of the pharmaceutical plants worth about UAH 3 bn was part of the illegal transactions ex-owner of BTA Mukhtar Ablyazov, who was sentenced for fraud to 20 years in prison in Kazakhstan and 22 months of imprisonment in England,” the shallows in the company.
The ultimate beneficiary of the arrested plant – Alexander Shishkin, the former Deputy of the State Duma of Russia, now a member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.
Owner of BTA Bank is a Kazakhstan businessman Kenes Rakishev.
“The court referred to article 5 of the Convention of the Council of Europe Convention on laundering, search, seizure and confiscation of the proceeds from crime and on the financing of terrorism, obliging the state to take steps for seizure of the property, which was converted funds received by a criminal way” – commented on the situation in the law firm Ilyashev and Partners.
