Until the end of the year is expected to supply Ukraine 700 thousand tons of thermal coal from the United States. Reported about it in interview ZN.UA Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly.
Chaly recalled that the contract for the supply of coal was signed between an American company XCoal Energy and Resources and the Ukrainian state Центрэнерго14 July of this year.
Last week from the American port of Baltimore, the ship came loaded with 62 tonnes of thermal coal, which should arrive in the Ukrainian port southern to mid-September.
“Under the terms of the contract until the end of the year we can expect the supply of 700 thousand tons of anthracite coal from the United States. It was planned that the first supplies will make 85 thousand tons. But the senders have quickly found a slightly smaller boat on 62 thousand tons, while downloading which I attended along with American high officials. Ship American coal last week left the port of Baltimore, will go roughly three weeks, therefore, somewhere closer to the middle of September, you can expect its arrival in the port of Yuzhny”, – said the diplomat.
According to him, full information on deliveries to Ukraine the following parts of anthracite coal owned Centerenergo. “What we know is the next batch of charcoal should be larger, roughly 120 thousand tons, and is expected to arrive in Ukraine in early October. We can expect the arrival of one or two vessels per month” – said Chaly.
He admits that next year Ukraine needs to buy more American coal.

Recall that in the port of South comes as the coal from South Africa, August 16, ended the third unloading bulk carriers, in all cases, the court has delivered 75 tons of coal. Just DTEK has contracted 675 thousand tons of coal in South Africa with the possibility of increasing the supply of 1 million tons.
