In Ukraine may receive the first private railway in the direction Kiev-Odessa. This was stated by the Minister of infrastructure Vladimir Omelian, reports Delo.
“This could be a public-private partnership with Ukrzaliznytsya investor and operation of euroklei and wagons on the basis of parity. Or it could be an alternative, parallel private railway for 49 or 99 years, which will be operated by a private company… It will be a huge competition with air travel, because it is a train that goes from Kiev to Odessa for two hours, you can put the ticket price at 500-700 UAH and the train will be filled,” said Omeljan.
According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, the cost of 1 km of the construction of euroklei Kiev-Odessa will be about UAH 30 million.
“Speed on the way euroklee we want to carry out on a segment of the Kyiv-Odessa. The base price that we use is about 30 million UAH for 1 km. electrification of Roughly 1 million euros,” – said Omeljan.
He said that in Poland 1 km euroklei built with electrification and substations is up to 3 million euros.
“We go from simple numbers. We have a state first-class road, which connects Kiev to Odessa. Along this road there is public land… to Build eurokolia will be along this route. On land there are elevation changes, therefore, in some cases, you will need to go on piers that would increase the cost of the work”, – said Omeljan.
The Minister noted that the total cost of construction of euroklei Kiev-Odessa, based on distance, ranging from 500 to 800 million euros.

Speaking about rolling stock, Omeljan reported that it will cost 20-30 million euros.
“Now the average to purchase a passenger line for about 10 million euros, depending on the manufacturer, the number of cars and requirements. In order to fully ensure the daily running 3-4 trains that will be enough,” said the Minister.
He said that this will be not only high-speed passenger traffic but also cargo.
“We have high-speed freight transport is simply not available. If we build this W/e Go Highway, which will go through Kiev, then to Lviv and Poland, for this euroklee container, conventionally, will pass through the territory of Ukraine for 10-15 hours,” said Omeljan.
Earlier, the head of Ukravtodor Slawomir Nowak announced that the construction of toll roads may begin in Ukraine in 3-4 years.
