The national Agency for prevention of corruption found the detective NABS Igor Semak potential conflict of interest associated with the possible presence of “private interest” in the investigation of several criminal proceedings. The requirement NACP has made the head of the anti-corruption Bureau Artem Sytnik, the press service of the Agency.

It is noted that the detective “did not take measures to resolve potential conflict of interest and failed to notify immediate supervisor about the presence of a conflict than have committed the offence of corruption.”

According to the report, Semak part of a group of detectives that investigates criminal proceedings on the procurement of NNEGC Energoatom and embezzlement of another’s property and abuse of office management GP VostGOK.

“Detective… do not exclude the possibility of the existence of private interest caused by a previous paid work experience assistant consultant national Deputy Victoria Voytsitskoy”, – stated in the NACP.

As noted in the Agency, Semak, participating in the investigation of the above cases, was to prevent or settle a potential conflict of interest, however, according to reports, he was not notified of NABOO about the existence of such a conflict.

In order Sytnik NACP requires to eliminate the revealed violations, in particular, to conduct an internal investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice and to resolve the Semak potential conflict of interest.

In the event of failure of Agency regulations to the Director of NABU face a fine (article 188-46 Cao).
