The Israeli government has announced its intention to reduce funding for the United Nations by $6 million in protest against the resolution of the UN security Council condemning Israeli settlement building on Palestinian territory. About it reports AFP.

Israel had previously UN allocated $40 million.

“It is unreasonable for Israel to Fund the bodies that work against us in the UN,” – said the Ambassador of Israel Danny Danon.

“We want to stop the practice when the UN is used only as a platform for endless attacks against Israel,” he added.

24 Dec 2016 the UN security Council adopted a resolution that calls to halt the construction of Jewish settlements in Palestine. Later the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel will not comply with the requirements of the UN resolution.

December 25, Netanyahu announced that Israel intends to review relations with the UN after the adoption of security Council resolution on the illegality of Israeli settlements in Palestine.
