The Supreme administrative court on 22 November will consider the claim of the former Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili to the President of Petro Poroshenko for the deprivation of his former Georgian politics – the Ukrainian citizenship. About this in his Facebook said the plaintiff.

“We were able to obtain documents of depriving me of citizenship and submit a claim for appeal against the illegal decree of the President”, – Saakashvili wrote.

The politician saw symbolism in the fact that it will consider the Day of Dignity and freedom. LIGA.net says: in Ukraine, this state holiday is celebrated on November 21.




October 29, Saakashvili said that challenged in court the decree of the President of Petro Poroshenko about the deprivation of his citizenship.

24 October 2017 the management of GMS in the Lviv region denied Saakashvili’s consideration of his petition for political asylum on the grounds that it was filed with violations. According to the head of the GPU, the ex-Governor in court this decision was not appealed, but Saakashvili has denied this information. According to him, the GMS did not respond to his request, in connection with which the claim was submitted to the court about the inactivity of the Ministry.
