Japan intends to use lasers to neutralize North Korean missiles. About it reports UNIAN with reference to the Japanese newspaper Yomiuri.
The laser should strike the missile immediately after launch. It is planned that this will either withdraw it from the system, or immediately to destroy.
Such a system would be cheaper than a ballistic missile interceptor, stresses the newspaper. The defense Ministry of Japan is willing to spend on research in this area is 8.7 billion yen ($79 million).
