The head of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker said that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be personally responsible if Ankara will not receive a visa-free regime with the EU. She said this during a speech in the Belgian city of Bruges, Reuters reports.

Juncker said that the visa regime will not be weakened if Turkey would not meet the criteria, including the amendments to its antiterrorism law.

“All that the Turkish authorities are doing today, makes me think that, in the end, Turkey does not want to comply with European standards”, – said Juncker.

Previously European Union officials said a large regression of Turkey to respect the rule of law.
