Cybercriminals have exploited the vulnerability of the messenger Telegram for access to computers in Russia, the report said Kaspersky Lab.

According to Kaspersky Lab, the attackers used a vulnerability in the client of Telegram messenger for Windows from March 2017. With their help, the criminals spread among users a backdoor through which the received remote access to the infected computers, set up the spy software.

Vulnerability Telegram was used to install on users ‘ computers for mining. Using the computing power of infected computers, criminals have produced different cryptocurrencies, including Monero, zcash for, Fantomcoin, and others.
